danceTactics is a nationally recognized contemporary dance and cultural organization founded in 2006 by choreographer Keith A. Thompson. Through innovative performance, education, community engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration, danceTactics creates transformative artistic experiences that inspire connection, dialogue, and belonging.
Rooted in the belief that the arts can foster empathy and social change, danceTactics amplifies voices that have historically been underrepresented—including BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, older adults, and people with disabilities—while creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds to engage with meaningful artistic experiences.
The organization develops and presents original contemporary dance works, touring productions, artist residencies, workshops, master classes, dance films, public conversations, and collaborative community programs. By partnering with educational institutions, cultural organizations, and communities throughout the United States and internationally, danceTactics advances artistic excellence while strengthening civic engagement and expanding access to the performing arts.
Through every performance and partnership, danceTactics seeks to cultivate belonging, celebrate our shared humanity, and demonstrate the power of movement to connect people across cultures and generations.
