Every year an estimated 1.25 million people around the world die because of road traffic crashes, and millions more are injured. Established in 2013, the Road Safety program is the longest standing program at GHAI. The program works with civil society organizations, local and international experts, and governments to advocate for and pass road safety policies and legislation around the globe. GHAI provides advocacy leadership to the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety program and partners with the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies who oversees grant administration to in-country partners.
