The Washington Center

The Washington Center (TWC) was founded in 1975 to serve as a bridge between higher education and professional careers, empowering and motivating learners to become engaged global citizens through experiential learning opportunities. Nearing five decades as a well-respected higher education adjacent organization, TWC has adapted and evolved its experiential learning model, centering access and opportunity for students. By creating flexible, immersive pathways for learners, TWC enhances and diversifies talent pipelines that build more equitable and inclusive workplaces and communities. Through its robust partnerships with both regional and national employers across all sectors, TWC is identifying and addressing the greatest skills gaps with learner-centric and market-driven offerings including short-term programs, mini-internships, and seminars delivered in virtual, hybrid and in-person formats to engage and support nontraditional students, historically marginalized learners, career transitioners and individuals re-entering the workforce.
