The YAC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established in 1957 for the purpose of promoting appreciation and creating access to visual arts that serves the region of western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and surrounding counties.
The YAC is located at 200 Broadway in Paducah, Kentucky. The organization is an integral component of the city's designation and identity as a UNESCO Creative City of Craft & Folk Art. It contributes to this identity through its established annual international juried art shows and multiple dynamic exhibitions in its gallery and at various locations in the community - including works from regional, national, and international artists.
The center also partners with other organizations that bring national and international artists to the community for residencies, exhibitions, and educational programs. It serves as a forum for artists and an educational resource for schools, colleges, and community organizations throughout the region.
