Reporting directly to the President of Intermountain Foundation & System Chief Development Officer, the Programmatic Giving Officer (PGO) position is a senior-level Foundation leadership role. The PGO is responsible for the vision, design, strategy, implementation, and management of a vibrant, comprehensive, and contemporary Programmatic Giving Program to effectively meet the needs of Intermountain’s hospitals and the related spectrum of healthcare services. The position will have joint oversight of annual giving and Foundation events, with the goal to expand the number of dollars and donors, maximize donor retention, and create a future relationship pipeline for major giving.
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Programmatic Giving is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the Annual Giving and Events team. We seek a dynamic leader in this area who can bring experience, passion, and inspiration through programming that will create pathways to engage donors via ‘one-to-many’ channels that ultimately create movement along the donor pipeline. The individual selected for this leadership position will share expertise in developing and implementing integrated, multi-channel response strategies, with experience in digital engagement for fundraising, which has resulted in measurable growth in revenue and donor pool. In partnership with Marketing and Communications and Consumer Insights, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing contemporary digital outreach strategies, utilizing a range of tools and techniques that will allow us to customize donor engagement and tailor the donor experience. We seek a candidate with demonstrated experience overseeing other annual giving programs including peer-to-peer fundraising, monthly sustainer giving, and annual leadership giving (mid-level). Experience with prospect and portfolio management and implementing prospect-specific strategies for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual leadership gifts will also be important to the role. The candidate must be a highly motivated, goal-oriented, and resourceful individual with the willingness to accept responsibility and be accountable for results in a role that requires energy and professionalism in a fast-paced environment. He/she must be able to utilize strong analytical skills to evaluate the performance of a multi-faceted programmatic giving program. He/she must be accustomed to managing multiple and often overlapping projects while leading, engaging, and motivating team members responsible for their respective contributions to each project. The position requires excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports, peers and volunteer leadership. Finally, the ideal candidate will have a passion for the organization’s mission and be committed to helping the Foundation reach new levels of excellence, which will accelerate the Foundation’s annual giving revenue, contribute to the expansion of our major gift pipeline, and ultimately, fuel Intermountain Healthcare’s growth on behalf of the communities we serve.
