21-22 VISTA Outreach and Recruitment SpecialistMartha O’Bryan Center (MOBC) is thrilled to recruit for the 21-22 AmeriCorps VISTA class in partnership with the Southeast Regional Office of Americorps. Since 2008, Martha O’Bryan Center has operated an AmeriCorps program, empowering members to serve alongside community residents to alleviate poverty in Nashville’s most distressed community. Martha O’Bryan Center’s AmeriCorps VISTA team will help build the organizational capacity of the Martha O’Bryan Center to develop sustainable solutions to poverty in East Nashville. The Martha O’Bryan Center is an anti-poverty non-profit organization with longstanding history and deep community roots, grounded in tradition and strengthened by innovation. Founded in 1894 when Miss O’Bryan organized the Gleaners Society at First Presbyterian Church to support impoverished North Nashville residents, Martha O’Bryan Center has operated from the heart of Cayce Place – Nashville’s most distressed community – since 1948. This is where we continue in service, partnering with Cayce Place families to open doors of hope and possibility, create a culture of attainment, and positively shape future generations. Service members help Martha O’Bryan Center serve more than 12,000 clients each year through a comprehensive continuum of services including early learning education, youth development, job placement, family resources, and social services. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.Member Duties : The VISTA Outreach Coordination and Recruitment Specialist will support the MOBC Development Team in the areas of outreach coordination, volunteer recruitment, and organization fundraising. The VISTA will work to build a more comprehensive outreach strategy, and will spearhead the design and implementation of a Community Outreach Program that expands the organization’s network of volunteer recruitment and improves the organization’s processes for volunteer coordination.
