S/he will have responsibility to ensure that religious and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones are met in areas to which s/he is assigned. The Staff Chaplain will report to the Director of The Department of Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education. Position Summary The Staff Chaplain is responsible for the delivery of pastoral/spiritual care to patients and their loved ones in The Wexner Medical Center, including University Hospital, Ross Heart Hospital, Dodd Hall and University Hospital East. S/he will have responsibility to ensure that religious and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones are met in areas to which s/he is assigned. As appropriate, a chaplain also provides care for hospital staff and physicians. The Staff Chaplain will report to the Director of The Department of Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education. Minimum Education Required Master’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications Must be certified or certification eligible with the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or the National Association of Jewish Chaplains. This certification requires a college degree, a master’s level theological degree or equivalent, clincial training in chaplaincy, ordination or commissioning for ministry by a recognized religious group, a current endorsement for chaplaincy by a recognized religious group and appearance before a national certifying commission for assessment of competency.Additional Information:Location:Doan Hall (0089)Position Type:RegularScheduled Hours:40Shift:First ShiftFinal candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
