As a CARF accredited community-based behavioral health organization, we have a variety of programs, including but not limited to outpatient adult and adolescent mental health clinics, educational support with school-based counseling services, inpatient substance abuse recovery and crisis services, day treatment services for Intellectual and developmental disable individual, case management and supportive employment. 

 

 

River Edge Behavioral Health is growing.  Recently designated as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center – CCBHC, River Edge Behavioral Health is in the midst of transformation.  We are using evidence-based treatment to expand the service delivery model to include veteran and trauma-informed care expertise.  We have 730 team members serving more than 10,000 individuals a year.  Collectively we are reinventing behavioral healthcare.

Leadership:  Ensures that all operational and strategic decisions are made according to sound business practices, balancing the organizational mission and values with fiscal stability.  Partners closely with the Board to achieve desired outcomes on the Board-approved strategic plan.  Ensures the organizational structure effectively and efficiently supports the anticipated results, emerging practices, and innovation.

Organizational Management:  Directly and through subordinate managers, ensures appropriate human resources and that all staffing understands and supports the mission, values, and strategic plan.  Establishes key performance indicators to facilitate data drive decision-making.  Partners with management, team members, and steering team to ensure all team members’ position descriptions and functions have the appropriate alignment and purpose of carrying out the compliance programs’ tasks within the organization.  Maintains a compliance program that minimizes risk.

 

Fiscal Management: Ensures and provides general oversight for all fiscal operations.  Ensures compliance with laws and regulations, including appropriate reporting of all grant and other fund source requirements.  Oversee management of annual budget with a good understanding of revenue, expenses, and liability management.

 

Collaborative Relationships: Serves as a chief spokesperson for River Edge Behavioral Health; engages and plays a prominent role in advocacy, fundraising, community involvement, and industry research.  Participates in local, state, and national activities to support and advance the mission and overall presence of River Edge Behavioral Health.

 

Responsibilities

As the Chief Executive Officer of River Edge Behavioral Health, you will be expected to excel in the following duties and responsibilities. 

 

Plan, organize, direct, and controls the activities of River Edge Behavioral Health – CCBHC operations and strategic initiatives through the application of a wide range of management and leadership skills in accordance with the strategic and operating plans, which are focused on the mission, vision, values, and goals to be achieved.

 

Demonstrates a passion and commitment to the people we serve, applies both visionary and strategic leadership, and a commitment to the recovery model with substantive experience with individuals with mental health, substance abuse, and intellectual developmental disabilities and, in some cases, who are dually diagnosed with brain-based disorders. 

 

Demonstrates ability to work effectively in complex organizations while establishing credibility and confidence with team members, government officials, community leaders, and other internal and external stakeholders with a “partnering” philosophy. 

 

Coordinate relationships with community organizations and groups, current and potential funding sources, local, state, and federal organizations in governmental units, and elected officials to promote effective mental health services that meet the community’s needs.  Facilitates government representation in Macon, Bibb, Twiggs, Baldwin, Monroe, and Fulton Counties. 

 

Represents River Edge Behavioral Health as a delegated to the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, the Community Service Board Association, and other local, statewide, and national bodies and as a member on committees of these groups to promote the interests of River Edge Behavioral Health, it’s consumers and team members.

 

Demonstrate strong business capability with solid management skills; committed to the mission while ensuring fiscal strength.  Demonstrates exemplary leadership, fully immersed in delivering excellent care with a philosophy that encourages the development of solid teams with a common purpose.

 

Recruit and retain executive staff at every level.  Provide strong technical guidance and skills with a commitment to a data-driven environment.  Provide data-driven solutions and promotes River Edge Behavioral Health’s reputation of being able to inspire and motivate others in search of ongoing opportunities needed for organizational growth while demonstrating solid fiscal management.

Responsible for knowledge and adherence to all River Edge Behavioral Health policies, procedures, and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, including but not limited to Client Rights, Risk Management, HIPAA, Unlawful Harassment, and ethics. 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • A Master’s degree from an accredited College or University in Healthcare or Public Administration or related program is required.
  • Have five (5) years of experience in public sector health care experience in Medicare, Medicaid, and advocacy. 
  • 3 Years of fundraising experience preferred.
  • Have ten (10) years of experience leading in a fast pace, growth-oriented multi-site and remote healthcare operations with a knowledge and understanding of therapeutic programs and services related to behavioral health, substance abuse disorders, and prevention services for adults and children. 
  • Have ten (10) years of senior management and leadership experience in a healthcare setting. 
  • Have five (5) years of experience providing behavioral health, addiction, and substance use treatment preferred to individuals and families and demonstrated the ability to solve community problems caused by treatment disparities. 
  • Highly self-motivated and resourceful; displays innovative thinking with vision.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports; knowledge of healthcare reimbursement.
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License

 

The Community: 

Macon, Georgia, lies near the state’s geographic center, about 85 miles southeast of the City of Atlanta is nicknamed the “The Heart of Georgia.  Located near the fall line of the Ocmulgee River, Macon is a bussing metropolitan city of the south. 

Macon’s rich history, incredible architecture, stunning Southern charm, and soulful musical heritage have branded Macon “Where Soul Lives.”  Macon’s legendary and notorious music history from homes, offices, and crash pads of Southern music’s most famous like Otis Redding, the Marshall Tucker Band, and Little Richard.  Macon is home to Capricorn Records but is similarly known for the Ocmulgee Mounds Historical Park, Hay House, and the Tubman Museum. 

Not to mention Macon’s outdoor activities like biking the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail and paddling the Ocmulgee River.  Macon is a well-rounded experience of great neighborhoods, vast educational opportunities, and pioneering approaches to city planning.  Macon is the gem of the southeast.
