The Development Director will report to the Executive Director and work closely with senior staff and board officers to develop a strategic, comprehensive development plan with a minimum annual fundraising goal of $2.5 million.
The Development Director is a senior staff member responsible for the design and successful execution of fundraising strategies including: the solicitation of new major individual donors, oversight of annual fund and corporate giving programs, identification and acquisition of grant funding, donor event organization and shared oversight of communication efforts.
Additionally, the Development Director will create, inspire and maintain donor loyalty, interest and enthusiasm through communication and through activities designed to express recognition, appreciation and the impact of donor gifts.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of discipline; a minimum of five years of progressively responsible fundraising/sales experience with a demonstrable record of achievement; knowledge of and connections to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex philanthropic community; diplomacy when navigating across geographies, departments, and organizational levels; strong leadership, interpersonal and relationship building skills to motivate, mentor and retain talented staff; and experience with donor database and fundraising software.
Compensation for this position is commensurate with relevant professional experience, skills and education.
