He/She partners with Executive Director to establish strategies for long-range and short-term fundraising goals and oversees implementation to ensure achievement of annual goals. He/she ensures that brand awareness and community engagement are actively being addressed in alignment with strategic goals and advocates for support from community partners. They must demonstrate exemplary skills in supervision, relationship-building, strategy, and customer service. Duties include:

  • Provides leadership in the dissemination of the values and mission of the organization through community engagement and relationship building with donors and donor prospects as well as board member prospects.
  • Increases financial stability through relationships with donors and donor prospects, increasing capacity of giving, advocacy and volunteerism.
    • Responsible for developing, leading and executing the organization’s comprehensive fundraising program including: annual giving programs, major gift solicitations, corporate and business giving, planned and deferred giving, gifts-in-kind, capital campaigns, special events, and grants in order to meet the financial needs of the organization.
    • Act as staff lead for special event chairperson(s).
    • Assist in development of strategic plans for growth of special events.
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward potential donors. Build and manage a portfolio of 50-100 prospects.
    • Provide consultation to staff, board, contractors and management in all fundraising matters.
  • Increases brand awareness and integrity through relationship building with donors, community partners both corporate and service oriented, and program participants.
  • Uses volunteers effectively for development projects and brand awareness, providing them with leadership and guidance.
  • Increases capacity of the board by introducing a culture of philanthropy, developing, mentoring and training directors on fundraising and function as the primary liaison.
    • Using innovative strategies, identify, reach, and build relationships with a cross-section of community stakeholders to build capacity; align and leverage efforts that address the mission of BBBSSC (includes board recruitment/development).
  • Assists in leading the board and staff members in planning, developing and implementing the organization’s long-range and short-term fundraising plans to support its strategic goals.
  • Integrates community driven or informed engagement strategies into all organization activities to always promote a donor-centric culture of philanthropy.
