About Queens Community House (QCH):
Queens Community House (QCH) is a multi-site, multi-service settlement house that serves the diverse neighborhoods of Queens. Our programs support people of all ages, from children to seniors, fostering community engagement and personal empowerment. Guided by our mission, we are dedicated to promoting the well-being of individuals and families.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Government Grant Writing (DGGW) to join our team. This vital role is key in securing and managing government funding to support our mission of serving the diverse communities of Queens. The DGGW is responsible for researching, writing, submitting, and managing all of QCH’s government grant proposals. This position works closely with senior programmatic staff and reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research funding opportunities from city, state, and federal government agencies.
  • Write and prepare comprehensive and compelling documents for government RFPs that align with agency goals and requirements.
  • Collaborate with program and budget staff to develop proposal content, including program design, staffing plans, and budgets.
  • Conduct research and gather data to strengthen proposal development.
  • Coordinate and oversee timely proposal submissions and follow-up activities.
  • Represent QCH at pre-proposal bidders’ conferences to gather critical information.
  • Maintain government portal registrations, pre-qualifications, and associated records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in grant writing, editing, and management with a proven track record of success.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal government funding sources.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in managing multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in distilling complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Commitment to the QCH mission and values.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $70,000–$85,000 (commensurate with experience).
