Description

ETSS Advancement Associate

Between 2019 and 2021 our client based more than doubled (from 9500 to 20,500). This increase not only required more staff to support clients, it also continues to demand a more diversified skill base to meet the expanded services ETSS needs to provide. With the client base we have not served previously (Afghan Humanitarian Parolees), demands on staffing and types of staffing have also increased. These clients will be served in all areas of programming and additional support, organizational oversight and program development will be necessary to meet their needs. There are particular areas that have been extraordinarily well met by ETSS’ past VISTA members, such as development of data bases and management for a variety of highly detailed projects, as well as social media, garden grants and working on the Afghan resettlement project. Management of our annual online auction became a major fall project for both our 2020-21 VISTA and our 2021-22 VISTA member. Additionally, supporting the CEO in Board meetings and helping plan and execute Evening of Promise, our annual fundraiser, are some of the projects our AmeriCorps VISTA member will complete. ETSS’ current AmeriCorps VISTA member is working on our CRM system, overseeing all Afghan related donations, housing and other needs and focusing on ensuring social media messaging effectively reaches the broadest audience possible. The VISTA member is also involved with the team on reviewing the strategic plan, developing the Advancement calendar for the year and beginning our preliminary outreach on Evening of Promise 2022. All of these efforts are related to helping ensure that refugees and immigrants served by ETSS are developing skills, resilience, and capacity to move beyond poverty. The role of the AmeriCorps VISTA is an essential part of this work.

Member Duties : As a member of the ETSS Advancement Team, the VISTA will help raise dollars, awareness of programs and services for immigrants and refugees as they strive for independence and self-sufficiency in Central Ohio. Special events such Evening of Promise and Auction and other outreach activities will offer great opportunity for creativity, learning and engaging with over 60 cultures as we educate, engage and gain support for our New American neighbors. Additionally, our work in cultural training, capacity building and trauma informed care provide opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of the global community.
