Are you a skilled Finance Director with proven knowledge and successful experience in the principles and practices of general, fund, and governmental accounting? The Health District is seeking a team-oriented individual with superior communication and critical thinking skills to be our Finance Director. This position is a key member of the leadership team for our fast paced organization, which provides diverse health services to improve the health of our community.

As the Finance Director, you will be leading a dynamic team of accountants and will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all of the operations of the Finance Department, including but not limited to accounting; payroll, budget preparation and oversight; regulation compliance; bonded debt management; cash and investment management; internal control design and compliance; risk management; benefits administration; and financial planning functions. Position will be an on-site position which may start or as a hybrid model of in-office and remote work due to COVID-19.

Requirements: A Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field, a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience with complex accounting and fiscal management (preferably in a government or non-profit setting), three years of supervisory experience, and a minimum of three years of experience in risk management.  For a complete position profile/full job description with all qualifications and requirements, visit

Starting annual salary range: $100,000 – $114,000

Benefits: The Health District covers 100% of the cost for the group health insurance plan, Dental, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, and Accidental Death and Dismemberment for the employee. We  also provide 5% to a 401(a) plan (with a 3% required employee contribution), an optional 457(b) retirement plan, paid holidays, generous flexible paid time off, and employee wellness and recognition activities.

About the Health District: The Health District is a local government, operating under special district laws of the State of Colorado, and governed by a 5-member publicly elected board of directors. The Health District is primarily supported by local property tax dollars and operates on a 2021 budget of 21 million. Our diverse staff averaging around 105 people provide dental, mental health, prescription assistance, cholesterol and blood pressure testing, quit tobacco counseling, health insurance assistance and advance care planning services to the residents of northern Larimer County. We also join with other local organizations to assess and plan for the larger health-care needs of our community.
