POSITION OVERVIEW
The Yongey Foundation (YF) is a non-profit foundation that supports a group of unique organizations with a shared mission to offer the teachings of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and promote human flourishing through various educational and charitable activities. The Foundation Development Manager will be responsible for designing and developing a robust fundraising program for the various needs and initiatives of these organizations, with a particular focus on offering both secular and Buddhist programming via monasteries, schools and retreat centers as well as benefiting others through global social and community engagement projects. This new position is an extraordinary opportunity for a highly skilled fundraising professional who is passionate about meaningful philanthropic work coupled with the contemplative principles of awareness, compassion and wisdom. A successful development manager will have the potential to create a team as the organization grows. This individual will work closely with the Business Manager and report to the Board of Directors.
The Foundation Development Manager (FDM) role includes three major concentrations:

FUNDRAISING
The FDM will create and expand a dynamic program with an annual income goal of $2 million in funding to support various global educational and community initiatives of the Yongey Foundation and its organizations. Strategic optimization of donor contributions and fundraising campaigns are a top priority.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & RELATIONSHIPS
The FDM will focus on the importance of fostering relationships amongst diverse populations of supporters, organizational partners and stakeholders through effective collaboration, engagement and communications. Seeking opportunities to understand the various needs of multiple programs and initiatives will result in proper stewardship for all areas of development.
DATABASE & INFORMATION SYSTEMS
The FDM, together with the Business Manager, will design and implement from the ground up, an efficient, productive, centralized and integrated information management system for organizing all relevant fundraising data and reporting communications with room for further expansion.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience with fundraising and development in a non-profit setting, including but not limited to grant writing, donor relationship management, sales, marketing and/or communications.

Proficiency with a CRM database platform like Raiser’s Edge, SALSA, Salesforce, etc. including building business rules for donor management.

Ability to build relationships with team members, grantees, donors, volunteers, and institutional partners through the lens of our organizational values.

Passion for supporting deep meaningful work in a global community environment.

An interest in or familiarity with meditation, mindfulness and/or Buddhist Philosophy is preferred.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

This is a year-round, full-time position (40 hours/week).

This is a fully remote, location neutral position, with independent contractor status.

Schedule is flexible, but mostly Monday through Friday, with some occasional very early or late meeting times due to working with individuals in other time zones.

Annual salary range: $65-$85K depending on experience.

Potential bonus incentive plan.

A personal computer with secure internet access is required.
