Position: Full-time, remote (with some travel)

This multifaceted role requires high-level fundraising, nonprofit management, and administrative experience to build and then execute on a comprehensive understanding of our operations. The Director will report directly to the Board of Directors and work collaboratively with both the Board and volunteers to execute our strategic plan and mission.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of fundraising programs and strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and volunteers to implement USA Boccia’s strategic plan and mission.
  • Develop and manage a sustainable workload supported by a volunteer workforce.
  • Delegate authority and manage the volunteer workforce effectively.
  • Provide input on the strategic direction and composition of committees formed by the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure organizational success.

Requirements:

  • Mission-driven, constituent-focused, and passionate about USA Boccia’s mission.
  • Lead fundraising and donation initiatives to support USA Boccia’s operations and ensure long-term financial security.
  • Assist the Board with planning, organizing, and executing the organization’s operations to ensure growth and prosperity.
  • Oversee and delegate work necessary to pursue new and existing grant opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to USA Boccia’s approved strategic plan.
  • Supervise the maintenance of USA Boccia’s membership database.
  • Monitor, assist, and assess committees and taskforces.
  • Communicate in person, by email, on the website, and via social media as the face of USA Boccia among athletes, coaches, volunteers, families, and donors.
  • Develop positive working relationships with other leaders in the disability sports community.
  • Assist in managing grant deliverables, US Nationals, regionals, and other USA Boccia events.

Time Allocation:

  • 45% Revenue & Fundraising Management:
    • Develop and coordinate all fundraising activities.
    • Manage revenues from events, grants, membership, sponsorships, merchandise, programming, and fundraising.
  • 20% Membership / Grassroots:
    • Manage and grow the membership base and youth and development programs.
  • 15% Administration:
    • Execute back-office and general business functions, including financial recordkeeping and annual budget development.
    • Lead staff and volunteers to focus on processes, tasks, and outcomes.
    • Communicate effectively with the Board, providing timely and accurate information for informed decision-making.
    • Ensure efficient systems to track progress and evaluate program components.
    • Administer coach, sport assistant, referee certification programs, and background checks.
  • 10% Events:
    • Execute key events hosted by USA Boccia and coordinate with volunteers, partners, and others for external events.
  • 10% Talent Development:
    • Create programs to share resources and develop talent across the Boccia and adaptive sports ecosystem.
    • Build partnerships in new markets and establish relationships with funders, political, and community leaders at each regional site.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising: Demonstrated success in developing and executing fundraising strategies, including grant writing, donor relations, and event planning.
  • Strong track record in revenue generation: Experience in managing and growing diverse revenue streams such as grants, sponsorships, memberships, and merchandise sales.
  • Commitment to USA Boccia’s mission: Genuine passion for promoting and growing the sport of Boccia and supporting athletes with physical disabilities.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills: Ability to work closely with the Board of Directors, volunteers, and other stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, written and verbal communication, consensus-building, and decision-making.
  • Organizational and administrative proficiency: Experience in overseeing day-to-day operations, financial recordkeeping, and budget development.
  • Technological proficiency: Familiarity with relevant computer programs, specifically MS Office.
  • Educational background: Undergraduate degree in recreation, sports management, business administration, or marketing is strongly desired.
  • Preferred experience: Prior experience in the Paralympic and/or disability sports ecosystem is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time, remote
Salary: $55,000 plus healthcare allowance and performance-based bonus opportunities.
