A successful candidate for the President & CEO position will possess, at minimum, significant years of relevant and demonstrated leadership experience including but not limited to the following knowledge, skills and abilities:


  • Passion for MHP’s mission, vision and values; thorough understanding and demonstrated commitment (including “lived experience”) to the delivery of and advocacy for public sector behavioral health services and programs consistent with the principles of peer recovery and resilience
  • Superior business acumen, business development, strategic planning and financial/P & L management and leadership skills;
  • Demonstrated executive/operational leadership track record and  experience within a nonprofit, governmental system, behavioral/mental healthcare and/or for-profit concern
  • Excellent data driven decision-making capabilities and orientation coupled with a belief in and commitment to innovation, creativity, and performance, results and outcome metrics; solutions-oriented and continuous business and process improvement focus
  • Solid understanding of managed care principles, including delivery system organization, financial issues, program development, utilization management, network management, quality improvement, and consumer/community roles and responsibilities
  • Impeccable platform presentation, communication, negotiation, persuasiveness and diplomatic skills; sincere commitment to and focus on staff mentorship, coaching and career/personal development
