Description
The Role of Treasurer:

Serves as a member of the WFM-IGP Board of Directors (meets every other month online).

Leads on budget oversight and financial policy and Chairs the Board’s Finance Committee (meets monthly separately from the Board online).

Ensures compliance with regulatory and financial requirements across relevant jurisdictions, in particular the U.S. and the Netherlands. (The Assistant Treasurer is based in the Netherlands and assists with compliance there.)

Works with a part-time bookkeeper and external accountant to manage reporting and audits.
Additional Details:

Time Commitment: Approximately 10 or more hours per month. Participation in Board and Finance Committee meetings expected (online).

Term Length: initially 2 years, renewable.

Support Provided: Outgoing Treasurer will assist with onboarding. Assistant Treasurer, Finance Committee and staff provide ongoing collaboration.

Financial Scale: Modest annual operating budget supported by grants, contributions, and institutional partnerships, income growth expected.
Requirements:

Background in finance, accounting, law, or nonprofit governance

Familiarity with international nonprofits or interest in global policy a plus

Creative, collaborative, and passionate about building a better world
