Job Summary:
The Center is seeking an experienced, visionary, and results-driven Director of Program Development to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an innovative leader capable of managing complex programs, coordinating with the development and continual review of the business plan, driving strategic initiatives, and building relationships with key stakeholders. You will play a central role in shaping the future of creativity in our community, developing and executing programs that align with the mission of The Center, while ensuring measurable outcomes and continued growth.
As Director of Program Development, you will work closely with senior leadership to oversee and grow a diverse portfolio of programs, driving both operational excellence and creative impact. This position requires a hands-on leader who can collaborate with a team, engage with stakeholders, and bring bold ideas to life in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Program Development & Execution: Design, implement, and manage a portfolio of high-impact programs (pre and post opening) that align with The Center’s mission and strategic goals. Effectively manage budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver successful outcomes and adjust as needed based on metrics.

Resource Development: Spearhead initiatives by coordinating with the Development Department to secure sponsorships, define strategic partnerships, and support program ideation and implementation to ensure sustainable funding for programs.

Budget & Operations Management: Develop and oversee program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational objectives. Approve operational frameworks and ensure adherence to high-quality standards.

Community Engagement & Partnership Building: Build and nurture relationships with artists, entrepreneurs, organizations, public entities, innovators, educators, community partners, and other stakeholders. In coordination with the Marketing Department, lead outreach efforts to expand the reach and impact of programs while engaging diverse audiences.

Innovation & Program Efficiency: Continuously explore creative ways to enhance program efficiency, impact, and relevance. Stay informed on industry trends to keep The Center’s programming innovative and aligned with best practices.

Performance Monitoring & Impact Evaluation: Utilize data and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness, track progress against KPIs, and implement strategies for continuous improvement and enhanced impact.

Strategic Oversight & Reporting: Develop long-term program strategies in line with organizational priorities. Provide executive leadership with regular updates on program outcomes, financial status, and key performance metrics. Help to develop solutions when analysis proves programmatic adjustments may be necessary.

Operational Process Improvement: Optimize operational workflows and processes to enhance program delivery. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and effectiveness.

Partnership & Collaboration: Cultivate and maintain partnerships with cultural institutions, schools, educators, public agencies, innovators, artists, advisors, and corporate entities to co-create impactful programs and spaces that support The Center’s mission.
Education and Experience:
Qualified candidates will have the following education and professional experience:

Have 5+ years of experience in nonprofit program management, cultural institution leadership, or strategic program development.

Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs. This includes managing budgets, timelines, and teams.

Evaluation and assessment: Ability to assess program success, measure impact, and adjust strategies based on feedback and outcomes.

Ability to work cross-departmentally (e.g., with marketing, development, and operations) to ensure alignment with the overall mission and vision of the organization.

Experience in public speaking and external representation of the organization to diverse audiences.

Ability to clearly and efficiently articulate and communicate ideas, concepts, and objectives.
