Members: Students-Middle Schools, High Schools, Adult Programs, Community Colleges, 2- & 4-Year Colleges & Universities; Professional Members-Teachers, Healthcare Providers, etc.; Alumni (1978 to 2024).
International Association: HOSA-Future Health Professionals, a 501 (c)3 nonprofit corporation.
Headquarters Location: North Texas-Southlake, TX (near DFW Airport).
Employment Type: Full-Time Employment in North Texas; Staff must reside in North Texas; Contractors may work remotely.
Compensation: Commensurate with Experience. Benefits available.
HOSA-Future Health Professionals is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit association committed to recruiting students to the #1 career health professions. HOSA serves middle schools, high schools, adult programs, community colleges, 2- & 4-year colleges and universities. The HOSA's mission is to be a significant provider in the health industry pipeline by recruiting, preparing, and motivating young people to pursue collegiate degrees and certifications to become future health professionals. More than 3.2 million HOSA alums have experienced classrooms delivering technical skills and HOSA chapters by developing, practicing, and refining soft skills to enhance the preparation of future health professionals.
Position Description – We seek a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead an ever-increasing and dynamic membership organization. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the organization, including visioning, strategic planning, resource development, program delivery, partnership building, competitive events, professional development, research, and financial management. This role requires a passionate and enthusiastic leader who can inspire others, drive organizational growth, and ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of HOSA's unique leadership and health professions exploratory and development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the organization.
Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring effective and efficient functioning.
Manage and support staff, volunteers, and interns.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive organizational culture. - Resource Development & Financial Management
Develop and implement resource development strategies to secure financial support from various public and private sources.
Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and grant-making agencies. - Program Development & Oversight
Ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality programs.
Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to identify and address community needs.
Monitor program outcomes and make data-driven decisions to enhance impact. - Partnership Building & Advocacy
Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization.
Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, sponsors, and investors.
Promote HOSA's vision, mission, and program of work through various communication channels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, education, or related field (graduate degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role in a 501(c)(3) organization.
- Proven track record in developing partnerships, sponsorships, and investors.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, audit, and financial reporting.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Passion for the mission of a career and technical student organization serving the health industry, providing a pipeline of future health professionals in middle school, high school,
2- & 4-year colleges & universities pursuing clinical and non-clinical degrees and certifications. - Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build strong global partnerships to implement HOSA chapters and resilient chartered associations in the USA, territories, and countries globally.
In 2026, the new Executive Director will help plan the 50th Anniversary Celebration of HOSA-Future Health Professionals to be held in conjunction with the 2026 Annual International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, hosting the largest ILC ever with 15,000 members, advisors, partners, sponsors, investors, and Friends of HOSA.
