We are seeking a proactive and data-driven Community Manager to lead membership growth, engagement, and retention strategies through analytics-driven decision-making.
Position Overview:
The Community Manager will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the full member experience using a data-centric approach. This role requires strong analytical skills to assess membership trends, engagement metrics, and retention patterns to inform and implement strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate is both a community-builder and a data strategist, leveraging insights to optimize member engagement and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data-Driven Membership Strategy: In consultation with the organization’s Membership committee and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Transformation committee, develop and execute data-backed strategies to attract, retain, and engage members, ensuring sustainable growth for our organization.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on membership trends, engagement behaviors, retention rates, and program effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
- Member Lifecycle Management: Use data insights to personalize member experiences, improve onboarding, and optimize engagement touchpoints.
- Member Support & Engagement: Leverage analytics to anticipate member needs and enhance responsiveness, ensuring a seamless member experience.
- Regional & Chapter Support: Provide support for chapter coordinators and serve as the liaison between chapters and HQ, ensuring alignment with overall membership goals.
- Job Board & Resource Management: Use data insights to assess the impact and usage of the association’s job board, making improvements based on user behavior and feedback.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate membership operations, using data to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Technology & Tools: Ensure optimal use of membership management systems and other digital engagement platforms to track and improve performance.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in membership management, community engagement, or customer success with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Advanced analytical skills: Ability to interpret complex membership data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Strong attention to detail (we are a group of editors, after all!)
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, CRM systems, and membership analytics software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop predictive models to improve retention and engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data insights clearly to stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating with diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Your Membership association management software.
- Background in data analytics, business intelligence, or marketing analytics.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, email marketing platforms, automation tools, and online engagement strategies.
Compensation & Benefits:
The starting salary for this position is $63,500.
