Job Summary:
The Director will lead a comprehensive fundraising program spanning major gifts, corporate partnerships, and individual giving. This role is responsible not only for securing high-level gifts, but also for building and strengthening the major donor pipeline by expanding the base of supporters, growing mid-level giving, and developing a pathway to major gifts.
Duties and Responsibilities: Donor Cultivation and Major Gifts (50%)
● Identify, cultivate, and solicit high-net-worth individuals and major donors aligned with the Foundation’s mission. ● Build and manage a portfolio of donors, with a focus on securing 5- and 6-figure gifts. ● Develop and execute personalized engagement and stewardship strategies to deepen donor relationships and increase giving over time. ● Partner with leadership and Board members on major gift strategy and donor engagement. ● Utilize CRM systems to track donor activity and manage relationships.
Mid-Level Donor Engagement (20%)
Manage relationships with mid-level donors, developing strategies to deepen engagement and increase giving in alignment with the broader pipeline structure.
● Partner with the Director of Philanthropic Services to engage and qualify donors for movement into the major gift portfolio. ● Support donor upgrade strategies through personalized outreach and stewardship. ● Provide feedback on donor trends and opportunities to inform broader pipeline strategy.
Corporate Partnerships (15%)
● Identify, cultivate, and secure corporate partnerships that align with organizational priorities. ● Develop tailored partnership opportunities, including sponsorships, cause marketing campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives. ● Steward corporate relationships to ensure long-term engagement and growth.
Communications and Individual Giving (10%)
● Partner with Marketing and Communications to support donor-facing materials and campaigns ● Provide input on messaging based on donor insights and engagement.
Development Activities & Events (5%)
Support key fundraising and stewardship events, including the Annual Meeting and targeted donor engagements.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university. ● Minimum of five years’ experience with closing 5 and 6 figure gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations and with a track record of meeting fundraising goals. ● Knowledge of development principles, fund raising techniques and ethics, and donor and prospect strategies. ● Experience with donor databases (Raiser’s Edge preferred). ● Experience with biomedical research organizations is a plus.

Salary Range $155,000 – $175,000
