The Great Plains Food Bank's mission is to end hunger together.
This is an exciting and pivotal time for the Great Plains Food Bank as they are well underway with their Harvesting Hope campaign, a major initiative to build the infrastructure and expand the organization's programs to end hunger for good. With a bold three-year, $30.5 million fundraising goal and strong early progress, including a significant investment from the State of North Dakota, the new CEO will join a dedicated, high-performing team to carry the campaign across the finish line and build on its momentum.
The Great Plains Food Bank seeks an executive who is a passionate servant-leader, brings relevant professional experience in managing an organization of similar complexity and scope, and is driven to provide innovative solutions to end hunger.
The candidate must establish and maintain strong and growing relationships with benefactors, potential donors, and other key sources of financial support in the foundation, business, government, and civic sectors. Experience with significant fundraising activities is required, particularly working with institutional funders, including private, family, and community foundations. The leader will serve as the principal spokesperson for the Great Plains Food Bank to local, state, national legislators, and officials. Therefore, having experience or comfort with advocacy work is essential.
The successful leader will possess a deep interest or understanding of the social factors contributing to the systemic issues and the root causes of food insecurity. A track record of entrepreneurial problem-solving skills, creating and implementing the best organizational and operational practices, and managing people through partnership and collaboration is required.
Successful candidates for this position will hold a bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred. Significant experience as a senior leader, preferably in a nonprofit setting is required. Experience in public speaking, fund development, financial management, personnel management, strategic planning, and working with a Board is preferred. A valid driver's license, ability to travel statewide, and flexibility to attend meetings and events in evenings and/or on weekends are required.
The Great Plains Food Bank offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The expected salary range for this position is between $180,000-$220,000 and will be commensurate with experience. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, employee assistance program, DoorDash DashPass, disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, and a 401(k) plan with up to 7% employer match. The Great Plains Food Bank observes 10 paid holidays each year in addition to generous paid time off.
