Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000

Employment Status: This position will be a full-time employee of NeighborGood Partners, with a competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Supervisor: Executive Director
Office Location: This position will be based in NeighborGood Partner’s Dover, DE office.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations and management of the consumer services programs as set forth by the Executive Director.
  • Participate in the Management Team and as such is involved in the overall management of the organization including collaboration with other directors, other lines of business, and the Executive Director.  May include check signing, board involvement, and other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for planning for program growth and financial support, curriculum development, program promotion, reporting, and goal accomplishment.
  • Supervise three Consumer Services Program Coordinators, who in turn supervise the housing counselors, coaches and intake specialists, and the USDA Loan Packaging staff. Evaluate supervised employees and conduct annual and semi-annual performance reviews.
  • Advance the programs through outreach to social service and housing agencies, major employers, civic organizations, Realtors, and lenders explaining NeighborGood Partners services.
  • Resolve customer complaints and take corrective action as needed.
  • Occasionally provide counseling, training, or presentations on family budgeting, debt load management, credit problems, savings plans, goal setting, house and neighborhood selection, etc.
  • Responsible for the development of professional training material and curriculum updates.
  • Assist the Executive Director with fundraising plans and meetings regarding Consumer Services as may be necessary.
  • Ensure procedures are established to maintain NeighborGood Partners’ HUD Housing Counseling Certification and adherence to NeighborWorks America’s requirements.
  • Responsible for timely reporting to the various funding partners, summary of performance statistics and demographics for a variety of monthly, and quarterly, and year-end fiscal and calendar reports, scheduled audits, and inspections.
  • Participate in policy work to enhance the reputation and funding of housing counseling and financial coaching.
  • Position requires occasional evening travel, meetings, and workshops to accommodate the needs of Consumer Services.

  • Position requires use of personal vehicle for NeighborGood Partners’ travel; employees must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of appropriate housing regulations and keep abreast of federal, state, and local mortgage and financing programs.
  • Abide by and comply with NeighborGood Partner’s Personnel Manual and Code of Ethics.
  • Report activities/accomplishments to supervisor and funding sources in a timely, complete, and accurate manner.
  • Oversee the development of training material, newsletter articles, and workshops/forums to educate and reach out to organizations and people in need.
  • Maintain professional quality written communication via correspondence, newsletter articles, proposals as well as professional quality oral communication and presentations.
  • Work individually with diligence and with appropriate team to accomplish established work plan and objectives.
  • Maintenance of professional certification and memberships in appropriate professional housing organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field or associate degree with five (5) years of equivalent work experience with a nonprofit, social service, or government agency.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of work-related experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience.
  • Understanding of the housing challenges facing low- and moderate- income individuals.
  • Experience in housing counseling, financial coaching, mortgage origination, lending, and credit report is preferable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good mathematics, budget, and economic skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in word processing and spreadsheet computer skills.
  • Courteous and business-like manner in dealing with public and co-workers.
