About the Organization
The Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) is a non-profit organization classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(6) trade association. The FRVTA is dedicated to promoting and advancing the RV industry in Florida through education, consumer shows, political advocacy, and member support. With over four decades of leadership, the FRVTA organizes some of the largest and most respected RV shows in the country—including the annual Florida RV SuperShow—and serves as a trusted resource for RV dealers, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, and campgrounds across the state.
Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and administration of the Association’s operations, programs, and staff. Working under direction of the FRVTA Board of Directors, the Executive Director ensures the successful execution of the Association’s mission and strategic objectives. This role requires a dynamic, organized leader with a strong background in association management, event planning, and member relations.
This is a full-time, in-person position based at the state headquarters in Tampa, Florida. The Executive Director must be available to work onsite and travel throughout the state as needed. Use of a company vehicle is provided for business-related travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of the Association in alignment with Board policies and strategic goals.
- Manage and support FRVTA staff and show coordinators, fostering a productive and professional work environment.
- Oversee planning and execution of FRVTA’s RV shows across the state, including the annual Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa.
- Develop and manage the annual budget; ensure responsible fiscal management and compliance with 501(c)(6) regulations.
- Lead membership development efforts including recruitment, retention, and the delivery of member services and communications.
- Represent FRVTA in industry, governmental, and public forums; maintain strong relationships with media and strategic partners.
- Provide support to the Board of Directors through timely communication, reporting, and coordination of meetings and initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends and legislative issues affecting members; lead advocacy efforts in collaboration with the Board.
- Organize and manage quarterly Board of Directors meetings and the annual member convention, ensuring effective coordination, communication, and reporting.
- Other duties as outlined and assigned by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- Senior management experience within a trade association, nonprofit, or similar organization.
- Familiarity with 501(c)(6) organizational structure and compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of or connection to the RV, outdoor recreation, tourism, or trade show industries preferred.
- Proven success in event planning, fiscal oversight, and stakeholder engagement.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience.
