Title: Resource Development Specialist

Department: Resource Development

Reports to: Resource Development Manager

Salary Range: $60,000 per year, with consideration for additional experience and skills.

This is a two-year contractual position, with a high probability that the funding will be renewed and the position extended, as other similarly funded roles at NPTA have been.  For best consideration, please apply by September 25, 2024.

At National PTA, we're on a mission to make a difference in the lives of children and families across the nation. Our Resource Development team plays a key role in achieving this mission, and we're looking for a passionate and energetic Specialist to join our team.

The Resource Development Specialist supports companies that become Proud National Sponsors and invest in PTA programs and initiatives to improve the lives of children and families. The Specialist works closely with the Resource Development team and across PTA departments to ensure a strong, trusting relationship between National PTA and our sponsors and funders. A key role is ensuring all elements of our sponsor contracts are fulfilled. The Specialist maintains regular communication with each partner, interacts with PTA colleagues about digital and print advertising fulfillment and reporting, connects with state and local PTA volunteer leaders and supports PTA funders to ensure their goals are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • SPONSOR FULFILLMENT
    • Supports the stewardship of PTA’s Proud National Sponsors, including building relationships with partner points of contact, maintaining a communication and meeting schedule and leading on the development of meeting agendas and facilitation of sponsor meetings.
    • Works on internal planning teams and working groups for projects, including events, programs and communications initiatives.
    • Maintains highest level of confidentiality of all information.
  • PROJECT COORDINATION & ADMINISTRATION
    • Becomes an expert of terms and deliverables within sponsor contracts/grant agreements and tracks fulfillment and outcomes.
    • Collaborates with PTA departments to ensure that all sponsor and donor contractual obligations are met satisfactorily and on schedule.
    • Coordinates sponsor reporting, in collaboration with other teams and contributes content.
    • Works with the communications team on purchased/sponsored digital and print advertising in all media assets, works with sponsors for approval and tracks all accounting and delivery of advertising material.
    • Coordinates with accounting to ensure sponsors are invoiced and in good standing, and prepares internal reports for management.
    • Coordinates logistics to support sponsor involvement in virtual and in-person PTA events.
  • OTHER
    • Works on team projects and performs other duties as assigned.
    • Ability to identify, communicate and align work to PTA DEI values and commitments to move the mission forward.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a role with related skills (e.g., customer service, sales, event-planning, teaching, partnerships, etc.).
  • Previous fundraising or donor engagement experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a not-for-profit organization and/or education sector is a plus.

Working conditions

  • Work is performed in a professional office environment in Alexandria, VA, currently on a hybrid schedule in-office 2 days per week with core office hours.
  • May be required to work some evenings and weekends for special programs/events.
  • Position may be required to travel <10%.
  • This is a largely sedentary role. Routine activities and special events may require the ability to lift files, packages and related materials.
