Description
With an annual operating budget exceeding $6 million, COASL administers a coordinated system of home- and community-based services including case management, in-home services, Meals on Wheels, congregate dining, adult day care, transportation services, outreach and consumer services, and homecare programs. The agency employs over 44 full- and part-time employees and is supported by dedicated volunteers.
The President/CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and strategic direction of COASL. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President/CEO serves as the chief executive and primary advisor to the Board, overseeing day-to-day operations while ensuring long-term financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, program effectiveness, and community engagement.
Key responsibilities include directing and supervising the planning and implementation of aging and social service programs; overseeing grant procurement and funding initiatives; ensuring fiscal integrity and sound financial management; supervising and developing professional staff; maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; strengthening partnerships with community, healthcare, governmental, and nonprofit organizations; and serving as a visible advocate for seniors throughout St. Lucie County.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Health Services, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university (master’s degree preferred); and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible administrative, leadership, and supervisory experience in social, health, economic, or rehabilitative services. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of federal, state, and local funding regulations; grant writing and fundraising principles; financial management practices; and demonstrated experience working with or advocating for senior populations. Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential.
