About Us
US Math Recovery Council® (USMRC) was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2003, with headquarters currently located in Eagan, Minnesota.  Since its incorporation in 2003, the US Math Recovery Council has been delivering high quality professional development for mathematics throughout the United States. In 2012-2013, the organization transitioned from a management company and consultant model to an employee model with the direction of its thirteen-member Board of Directors. Today, the US Math Recovery Council is a thriving organization.

The organization grew from seven employees in 2013 to currently employing 100 full- and part-time staff members today. The addition of highly qualified staff allowed us to expand our content and professional development services to include fractions content, math intervention up to fifth grade, and comprehensive support for implementation of assessment and teaching in the classroom.  Through the pandemic we developed additional support materials and services, launching a service providing intervention services to students and a product line providing educators just-in-time support for targeting instruction for students’ current understandings. In addition to engaging people in a range of professional development courses, the US Math Recovery Council offers a host of continuing support services and technical assistance integral to successful implementation leading to systemic change. This implementation process is a multi-year strategic program with support for implementation and local leadership development.

The mission of the US Math Recovery Council is to transform numeracy education, connect research with practice, and empower educators to advance student mathematical thinking and success through Math Recovery principles.
