Organization Overview
Emergency Infant Services (EIS) is a not-for-profit organization that temporarily assists children five and younger in the Tulsa area whose families are in dire economic straits. EIS provides the most basic needs: formula, clothing, diapers, and other items for children. EIS provides support for over 50,000 infants and toddlers annually. EIS believes in providing families facing financial challenges with immediate help because a child cannot wait.

Position Summary
The Director of Development, manages all aspects of donor development, donor retention, fundraising efforts, and marketing strategies. This position also plays a key role with special events and assists the Executive Director as needed. The Director of Development will set and achieve fundraising goals, maintain knowledge of fundraiser’s interests, and cultivate donor relationships. The Director of Development communicates with donors and keeps them informed on how their financial input is making the world a better place.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused on growth and increase revenue.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to cultivate donor relations.
    • Provide the board with regular progress reports.
  • Develop and implement a donor relation strategy that identifies new donors and engages existing donors in impactful ways.
  • Represent the organization at external events and build relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, ensuring successful and impactful results. 
  • Research, identify, and apply for grants from foundations and other funding sources.
    • Generate and create case study materials, reports and statements of support, etc.
  • Manage and mentor development staff.
  • Identifies and discusses with appropriate staff members, ways to improve work processes, efficiency, and quality.
    • Addresses feedback and comments about the quality of work and efforts that have been offered by volunteers and coworkers.
  • Assist with identifying line-item revenue for the development department budget.
  • Responsible for revenue generating initiatives and goals
  • Participate on EIS and/or partner agency committees and task forces.
  • Follows established personnel, department and EIS policies.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards related to fundraising.
  • Attends mandatory educational programs identified by the EIS.
  • Works to improve job skills, knowledge and performance.
  • Available to work extra shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Accepts changes in schedule and work assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience within a nonprofit agency is preferred.
  • Experience in a development role is preferred.
  • Experience with DonorPerfect and Salesforce database or similar fundraising program preferred.
  • Event planning software experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and thrive in a collaborative work environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Producing Data Reports and Analyzing Data
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising plans and strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification.
  • Knowledge of the local philanthropic community.
