About the Role

The Senior Analyst, Investments plays a pivotal role on Tides’ impact investing team, supporting the Director, Impact Investments & Strategy in the management, analysis, and optimization of Tides’ investment portfolio. This position will be responsible for leading investment research and due diligence, supporting portfolio construction and risk management, and ensuring efficient operations. The Senior Analyst, Investments will also mentor junior team members, contribute to client service initiatives, and help implement technology and process improvements in alignment with the organization’s mission and business plan.

Qualified candidates will bring 6-8 years’ experience managing investment portfolios in an institutional setting.

What will you Do

Investment Analysis & Due Diligence (30%)

  • Lead research and analysis on prospective and existing investments, including financial modeling and impact assessment.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to the Director of Investments and investment committees.
  • Monitor macroeconomic and sector trends relevant to portfolio strategy.

Portfolio Management & Operations (25%)

  • Support portfolio construction, asset allocation, and rebalancing processes.
  • Oversee day-to-day portfolio operations, including trade execution, performance tracking, and reporting.
  • Assist in the implementation and refinement of risk management frameworks.

Client Service & Reporting (20%)

  • Prepare and review regular and ad hoc reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in quarterly review meetings and client presentations with the Director of Investments.
  • Responsible for maintaining relationships to clients and partners by responding to inquiries regarding portfolio performance and strategy.

Process Improvement & Technology (15%)

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support the adoption and optimization of investment technology platforms (e.g., Addepar, Bloomberg).
  • Ensure data integrity and streamline reporting workflows.

Mentorship & Team Collaboration (10%)

  • Mentor and provide guidance to the Investment Analyst and interns/fellows.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and contribute to cross-functional projects.

What will you Bring

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills.
  • Solid understanding of portfolio management, investment operations, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with manager due diligence and analysis.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Bloomberg, Addepar, and other relevant investment tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
  • Experience with impact investing or ESG integration preferred.

Ideal Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, required
  • 6 years of progressive or direct experience and relevant bachelor’s degree; or 8 years of relevant experience in investment management, portfolio analysis, or financial operations.
  • MBA or CFA progress, preferred.

Compensation

Tides is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. We value pay equity and account for factors such as your location within the U.S., your skills and your relevant experience, and we will not ask for your salary history.

Your starting salary will fall into this range:

  • $95,300 – $119,100 (Most of the United States)
  • $103,900 – $129,900 (Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. metro areas)
  • $114,400 – $143,000 (New York City & San Francisco metro areas)
