The Rural Coordination Specialist (RCS) will provide technical assistance (TA) and training to rural domestic violence, sexual assault (DVSA) programs, and communities. The primary focus will be on developing Coordinated Community Response Teams (CCRT) and Sexual Assault Response Teams (SART) with best practice protocols and policies. Emphasis will be placed on addressing stalking, dating violence, domestic violence, and sexual assault through culturally responsive and equitable approaches. The RCS will collaborate with various local, state, and tribal entities, including the Wind River Indian Reservation (WRIR) and the Wyoming Division of Victim Services (DVS), to enhance community readiness and the involvement of traditionally underserved populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide training and TA on developing CCRTs and SARTs with best practices and culturally responsive approaches.
  • Collaborate with partners to expand rural access to medical forensic sexual assault services, including SANE certification.
  • Ensure that TA and training efforts include persons with lived experiences as well as underserved populations, including people with limited English proficiency, Indigenous communities and individuals with disabilities.
  • Track and evaluate outcomes to strengthen rural capacity and program sustainability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Experience in victim services, community coordination, or similar work activities
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with underserved populations and rural communities.
  • Training or experience in trauma informed care or culturally responsive practices.
  • Knowledge of CCRT/SART or similar community collaborations
  • Awareness of forensic nursing, SANE training, and medical forensic programming.
  • Experience in training design and delivery.
  • Familiarity with Wyoming’s justice system and social services related to DVSA.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position reporting to the Training and Technical Assistance Director. The role may be performed on-site in Laramie or remotely from anywhere in Wyoming (tech equipment is provided, and reliable internet access is required). Travel up to 20% is required, with mileage, meals, and lodging covered while traveling.
