The Executive Director directs all advocacy, capacity building and systemic change activities to improve the lives of the residents of the state with developmental disabilities within the priorities established by the DDC. Undertakes activities to increase the independence, productivity, integration and inclusion into the community and self determination of people with developmental disabilities. Directs advocacy, public policy and funding to support services. Ensures the core mission of the DDC is carried out as outlined in the federal law. Also the administrator of the state Developmental Disabilities Endowment Trust Fund.
