Description

Chief Executive Officer

For nearly 30 years, Building Impact has partnered with nonprofit organizations and companies to strengthen communities through volunteering. Building Impact believes companies have the power to strengthen the communities where their employees live and work, but creating meaningful impact requires the right partner. Building Impact's approach is strategic, community-centered, and scalable. The organization co-designs volunteer programs with its nonprofit partners based on local needs; mobilizes corporate teams through meaningful volunteer experiences; and measures what matters by reporting real impact.

In 2025, Building Impact worked with more than 60 companies and engaged more than 14,800 volunteers. This work positively impacted over 79,130 lives and resulted in $1.79m in total contributions in support of nonprofit organizations and communities across the United States.

In partnership with a dynamic team and an engaged Board of Directors, the incoming CEO will be responsible for providing organizational strategy and vision while leading and managing the internal team and the implementation of organizational operations and strategy.

Building Impact seeks a visionary leader excited to capitalize on opportunities for growth and innovation, skilled in driving organizational success, and dedicated to empowering and developing a highly committed staff.

Through its fee-for-service model, Building Impact relies almost exclusively on earned revenue to support its operating budget. As such, the CEO is responsible less for cultivating donors and other sources of contributed revenue and more for increasing Building Impact's visibility in support of the organization's Partnerships and Program teams. By building a national profile, and interfacing with prospective nonprofit and corporate partners, the CEO will position Building Impact to capitalize on its opportunity to engage more volunteers, contribute to more communities, and affect more lives.

A minimum of 10 years' experience in an executive-level leadership position at a small and growing nonprofit or social impact company and direct experience leading in a dynamic environment are required.

The compensation range for this position is $175,000–$185,000 with performance-based bonus opportunities. Generous benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k eligibility with a 4% contribution, and robust paid time off. Building Impact currently requires in-person work at its Boston office or with clients at least two days per week. Building Impact offers free team lunches once per week during staff's time together in the office.

If you want to lead this dynamic organization, please confidentially submit a current resume and cover letter to Kittleman & Associates by April 29, 2026.
