Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky (PCAK) is seeking a dynamic, relationship-centered Executive Director to lead statewide efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and the external presence needed to expand PCAK’s impact, visibility, and long-term sustainability.
Key Priorities

• Build relationships and elevate statewide presence: Serve as PCAK’s primary ambassador; cultivate partnerships with community organizations, service providers, advocacy networks, state agencies, and policymakers.
• Lead fundraising and resource development: Drive donor strategy and stewardship; diversify funding across grants, corporate partnerships, individual giving, and annual campaigns; oversee grant proposals and reporting.
• Advance advocacy and public policy: Guide statewide advocacy efforts; strengthen relationships with legislators and administrative agencies; monitor policy trends and shape organizational responses.
• Oversee programs and impact: Ensure prevention programs are evidence-informed, community-responsive, evaluated, and clearly communicated to funders and stakeholders.
• Manage operations, people, and finances: Lead staff and day-to-day operations; oversee budgeting, financial management, compliance, and data-informed decision-making.
• Partner with the Board: Support governance, strategic planning, budgeting, board development, and organizational positioning on key issues.

What we’re looking for

• Master’s degree preferred or 5–7 years of relevant experience
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in a nonprofit or service-focused organization
• 3–5 years of leadership/management experience
• Exceptional interpersonal, public, and written communication skills
• Demonstrated success building and sustaining relationships with partners, stakeholders, and elected officials
• Fundraising/resource development experience (grants, donor stewardship, philanthropic relationship building)
• Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
• Budgeting/financial oversight and comfort using data for decision-making
• Understanding of state/regulatory processes and ability to engage with legislative and administrative agencies
• Commitment to preventing child abuse and neglect; sound judgment and ability to manage confidential information
• Willingness to travel in- and out-of-state, including occasional evenings/weekends
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online applications
• Preferred: Familiarity with child abuse prevention/child welfare, trauma-informed practices, family support systems, statewide program growth, and/or government relations/legislative engagement

Location & travel
This role requires statewide engagement and includes in- and out-of-state travel, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
