Responsibilities:

Steer HR Shared Service operations toward improved efficiency, higher quality and optimal productivity by developing, recommending and implementing strategies that enhance ways of working and utilize a once and well approach. Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and effectively head process improvement initiatives through disciplined use of quality methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma (or similar operational excellence approaches). Create/maintain process documentation and develop project plans, SLAs, KPIs, ROIs, cost benefit analysis and other measures to improve quality resulting in improved work product, service, and customer satisfaction.

  • Utilizing knowledge of HR best practices, engage in in-depth exploration of current operational frameworks to identify areas for improvement and ways to streamline processes.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining and driving efficiencies across teams while working with leadership to document service catalog offerings.
  • Help establish clear metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of improvements and monitor performance. Employ a data-centric methodology in monitoring, measuring results and storytelling.
  • Assist Shared Service team members and HR teams in the integration of global technologies.
  • Ensure top-notch documentation of new and existing processes and procedures. Capture and write clear, well-structured documented procedures, process maps, etc. and work with leadership to establish, roll out SOPs.
  • Capture and write clear, well-structured requirements. Write stories, plans, and create process maps for new initiatives and technology implementations/integrations. Communicate and validate requirements with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the development of roadmaps to reach the next level of maturity across multiple dimensions (e.g., standard work, digital enablement, performance metrics)
  • Create standard operating procedures that support disaster recovery efforts for shared services.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to measure and report on statuses/progress and to tell the story of program successes, goals, ROI.
  • Lead the effort to systemically embed a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Monitor system integration progress, department successes, implementation of continuous improvement efforts to better define success and tell the story.
  • Assess the cultural landscape and adapt change management strategies, as appropriate while carefully considering reasons why. Share your insights and recommendations with management on how to make things better.
  • Be an effective problem solver, identify potential risks and bottlenecks and seek improvements in processes where possible.
  • Identify collaboration opportunities and ways to capitalize on them while having the ability to represent stakeholders and assist in implementing processes across different L&G organizations.
  • Assist the team to ensure that customer deliverables are met timely and accurately.
  • Ensure all vendors, existing and new, meet or exceed vendor requirements as per the vendor management policies. Ensure due diligence has been conducted and appropriate documentation is on file.
  • May perform other duties of a highly confidential nature requiring knowledge of organizational practices, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, economics, technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience

Experience/Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of work experience related to primary job duties
  • Understanding of HR-related laws and best practices
  • Six sigma or other process improvement methodology training/documented experience
  • Previous experience working in a human resource department or similar background.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated excellence in creating formal documentation, understanding technical solutions, and success in analysis driven problem solving
  • Highly effective communication skills in collaborating with cross-functional teams and working with internal and external customers
  • Past success in using metrics, KPIs documentation and process flows to influence outcomes
  • Ability and resourcefulness in using technology to improve processes with proficiency in related technology, plus Microsoft Office products
  • May travel occasionally between corporate locations
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and well-developed organizational skills
  • Strong aptitude for writing processes and workflows, working with numbers, analysis, and problem solving
  • Ability to positively influence and deliver
  • Ability to see connections and discern where processes can best change to affect better outcomes
  • Effectively manage and provide support on multiple projects simultaneously in an innovative, ever-evolving environment.

Whats in it for you?

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $88,300 – $121,375 annually. This position is hybrid requiring 3 or more days in our Frederick, Maryland office.

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Legal & General America Annual Incentive Plan. The current target payment for the position is 8% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance. Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date. This role has 15 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
