POSITION TITLE: Outreach and Recruitment Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President of Training Programs, this position will assist with outreach and recruitment of pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship clients. The position will also assist with marketing, communications, and social media for the organization as needed. This ideal candidate would be energetic, outward facing, client focused and enjoys collaboration!

The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist is responsible for executing the outreach and recruitment plan for ANEW’s training programs. Outreach activities include but are not limited to attending job fairs and community events, creating collaborative referral partnerships, and forming relationships with K-12 organizations. The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist will also support the organization’s efforts to build relationships with identified apprenticeships, community organizations and other non-profit or government programs. The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist will work closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and other administrative staff as a team with shared responsibilities and goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducting recruitment and information sessions/workshops at the ANEW training center as well as out in the community
Maintaining a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities
Scheduling and attending regular outreach exhibitions in the community including job fairs, events, etc.
Assisting in the organization of special events, including donor/volunteer appreciation events and other fundraising initiatives
Attending and assisting in coordinating partnership meetings to help grow ANEW’s programs and outreach contacts
Collecting enrollment forms and enter on applicant pool list
Assisting with conducting intake interviews to assess appropriateness and eligibility for enrollment into ANEW’s pre-apprenticeship training programs
Responding to inquiries and phone calls about the programs and services available through ANEW
Conduct targeted recruitment in under-served and high barrier communities.
Working with training team to transfer clients from recruitment phase to the training phase
Nurturing new and old relationships with collaborative partners
Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM / REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Arts or Science degree, or an Associates of Arts degree and at least 2 years working experience in a professional capacity.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal, and customer relations skills.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including operational abilities in all Microsoft Suite programs (i.e. – Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability and comfortability conducting targeted recruitment in underserved communities.
Experience providing recruitment, employment placement services to adult and/or youth population and working with ethnically diverse populations. Knowledge of barriers facing underserved clients.
Knowledge of women’s resources and organizations, as well as apprenticeship is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to economic, racial, and social justice and an understanding of the ways institutions and systems hurt communities of color through both conscious and unconscious bias.
Flexibility and adaptability in working with a growing non-profit.
Strong communication and administrative skills with a proven track record of managing multiple projects.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a Washington State driver’s license.
Background screening through Washington State Patrol
Ability to work flexible schedule to include evening and or weekend
Proof of citizenship or other authorization for employment
Continuation of employment is contingent upon successfully performing work described
Continuation of this position is dependent on achievement of performance goals and availability of funding

WORK LOCATION: ANEW Tukwila Training Center and Satellite locations as assigned. This position may include up to 75% of travel. This position is eligible for hybrid upon agreement with the Director of Strategic Partnerships.

WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Regular workweek is 40 hours, Monday through Friday business hours. Occasional evenings, weekends, and some travel may be required.

REPORTS TO: Director of Strategic Partnerships

SALARY
This position is an hourly paid non-exempt position. The starting hourly rate is based on education and experience as per the below matrix. This position is grant funded and continuation of this position is subject to continuation of funding.

BENEFITS
The successful candidate is expected to serve a 90-day probation period. Benefits will take effect 60 days after the first of the month following the hire date. Employer paid benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision and participation in a 401k plan.
A portion of the medical premium is made by the employee through a pre-tax contribution at time of payroll posting. Employees who work 30 hours per week or more qualify for full benefits and pay a pre-tax contribution of $80 per month for the employee. Employees who work 20 hours per week pay 25% of their benefits. Employees who work less than 20 hours per week are not eligible for paid benefits. Additional employer paid benefits include basic life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holiday pay and taxes as required by law. If the position is more than 30/hours per week, employer paid medical benefits will include medical, dental, and vision benefits. ANEW also contributes a 4% match to a 401K after one year of employment.
