As I walked in the office on the Tuesday after a long July 4^th weekend, I felt excited — and nervous — to start my first day interning for the National Council of Nonprofits. My knowledge of nonprofits (not non-profits or not-for-profits, I quickly learned) was fairly limited, but I was eager to jump in to start work on a worthy cause: to strengthen nonprofits nationwide.
