The Southern Coalition for Social Justice (SCSJ) is a community-based, multi-disciplinary 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that engages in advocacy and litigation throughout the South. We employ a community lawyering model, and our central goal is to support communities of color and economically disadvantaged communities in achieving systemic changes that address their priorities and protect their rights. Our primary areas of expertise are voting rights and criminal and youth justice reform.
The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day management and the overall programmatic, administrative, financial, and funding development of SCSJ. The Executive Director protects the organization’s financial assets while ensuring compliance with Board directives and applicable grantor, federal, and state law requirements.
